Common and Sherri Shepherd hosted the red carpet screening of Hats on Monday. The short film capped off this year's annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival.
Directed by Sadé Clacken Joseph, the 14-minute USC film project follows the story of an imaginative, young, black aspiring baseball player (Dante Brown) struggles to find his place between his predominantly white high school and the gang-infested streets of South Central where he lives.
Hip Hollywood's Jasmine Simpkins moderated the Q&A with Hats' cast and director after the screening.
